Hi Brian

It is relatively easy to get charity status if you go for a CIO as you just need to edit the template constitution to meet your needs.

Then copy and modify the purposes ect from other sheds that are charities. So basically search charity commission for Men in Sheds and then look through other sheds details.

If this still does not work let me know and I can have a look we became a charity on first attempt.

Hi Brian,  You say you have tried but not been successful.  What was the reason for rejection by the Charity Commission?  As IoW say you need to agree a constitution which you can download and amend for your shed but don't amend the standard sections.

At Poole we have gone for CIO but it does generate a lot of bureaucracy. If a small group do you have the officers/trustees to take this on?

Thanks for your reply, I don't know why is was rejected as it wasn't me that applied and although I have asked none has given me that information we have another application in at moment so I am hoping it will go through.
