Grants, and how these should be shown in Shed accounts

No doubt many Sheds have applied for Grants from charitable organisations, grant making organisations and/or Local Authorities etc. for a variety of purposes.

How should these be shown in Shed accounts? Would it be different if the Shed is a charity (e.g. a CIO)?
