Hi all. Some already established Man Sheds have already got insurance cover, which meets their local requirements. Does they mean we would not be allowed to join (even if we wanted to) the UKMS grouping, unless they changed to the new one being liaised?
Group insurance can be 'cheaper' in some cases but not might be ideal for some individual MSs.

Just to put it on the record, I will liase with Zurich Insurance to produce an insurance cover available to UKMSA members only which will provide a level of cover commensurate with each sheds requirements as they develop.
The intent is that all members must be covered by insurance from the earliest beginnings, and as a shed develops they will move on for additional cover.
We want all our member sheds to have correct and proper insurance for their activities and to understand what cover they have. We also want them to pay a competitive premium for any insurances. I will endeavour to agree a package with Zurich which will fit the bill in a straightforward and affordable way. This insurance must be taken up (at whatever level) at the time of joining the UKMSA.
Any accident in a Shed is a disaster for the individuals, we want our members to be insured properly so that one Shed's accident does not become a disaster for us all by way of bad publicity.
